The International Award  Ceremony Oil Terminal 2012 took place on 27th of November in Taleon Imperial Luxury Hotel, former mansion of Eliseev. The advisory board have chosen two finalists and one winner within 12 nominees, both on russian and international scale. Two special nominees have been given to the innovative solution in environmental safety management and the best equipment/technology producer.  

1.     Grand Prix 2012
The winner in this category is the crude / oil products terminal, which acts as the sector’s model in terms of overall performance. This terminal sets the benchmark for all other industry players in the market.

Winner: "Spetsmornefteport Primorsk"

Finalists: "Rosneftbunker" and "Spetsmornefteport Kozmino"

2.     Environmental Safety
In this category the winner is the terminal whose priority is to preserve the environment in the region as much as possible. This terminal should have all modern means of oil spills prevention, fluid escape detection, and effective vapour recovery and oil spill response measures in place.

Winner: "Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd"

Finalists: "Spetsmornefteport Primorsk" and "Batumi Oil Terminal"

 3.     Best LPG Terminal 2012
The winner in this category is a sea or inland LPG terminal with the highest traffic recorded from July 1, 2011, to June 30, 2012, and that which has shown the best economic, environmental, and social performance. The award in this category will catch the attention of the public, investors, and customers, while promoting the best practice among other terminals.

Winner: "Nadezhda"

Finalists: "Maktren-Nafta" and "Tamanneftegaz"

 4.     Sustainability 2012
The winner in this category is the terminal, which has demonstrated steady performance over the last 8 to 10 years. The terms and conditions, which the terminals offer their customers, must not change materially. In case of any change taking place, it must not disadvantage the customers in terms of their economics.

Winner: "Caspian Pipeline Consortium-R"

Finalists: "Sheskharis Oil Terminal" and "Ventspills Nafta Terminals"

 5.     Public Opinion
The winner in this category will not be determined by the Advisory Board – the participants of the Oil Terminal 2012 Congress will be polled to identify the winner.

Winner: "Woodison Terminal" and "Spetsmornefteport Kozmino"

6.     Best Oil Terminal 2012
The winner in this category is a Russian terminal for crude oil with a significant cargo turnover and solid business reputation. This terminal should use cutting edge technologies, implement an effective environmental strategy, and have a highly professional management team. 

Winner: De-Kastri Oil Terminal

Finalists: "Varendey Terminal" and "Caspian Pipeline Consortium-R"

7.     Personal Contribution to Industry Development
There are people behind each success and achievement in a company: those who use their experience, knowledge, ambition, firmness, and influence to lead their organisation to new achievements, new quality of development and operations. This nomination has been created for executives, managers, engineers – all those who, in the opinion of their colleagues from the company and / or from the sector, make a special contribution to the development of the organisation and the sector in general.

 8.     Best Terminal for Oil Products 2012
The winner in this category is the oil products terminal, which has shown the best economic, environmental, and social performance from July 1, 2011, to June 30, 2012. The award in this category will catch the attention of the public, investors, and customers, while promoting the best practice among other terminals.

Winner: "RPK-Vysotsk Lukoil-II"

Finalists: "IPP" and "Vesta Terminal Tallinn"

 9.     Best Medium Capacity Terminal 2012
The winner in this category is the terminal, which has shown the best economic, environmental, and social performance from July 1, 2011, to June 30, 2012. The award in this category will catch the attention of the public, investors, and customers, while promoting the best practice among other terminals.

Winner: "Ventspills Nafta Terminals"

Finalists: "IPP" and "Klaipedos Nafta"

 10.  Best Small Capacity Terminal 2012
The winner in this category is the terminal, which has shown the best economic, environmental, and social performance from July 1, 2011, to June 30, 2012. The award in this category will catch the attention of the public, investors, and customers, while promoting the best practice among other terminals.

Winner: "Vostokbunker"

Finalists: "Yugneftehimtranzit" and "Tamanneftegaz"

 11.  Transparency
The winner in this category is the terminal, which offers equal non-discriminating access to its crude and oil products transshipment capacity to all players. This terminal’s operations must be open and transparent to all customers.

Winner: Vopak E.O.S.

Finalists: "Klaipedos Nafta" and "Petersburg Oil Terminal"

 12.  Promising Project
The winner in this nomination will be a project for the construction of a crude / oil product / gas terminal or depot, whose influence on the sector and the region is significant. The project should be in the final phase of construction or in the launch phase. It may also be in the initial phase, but must have a feasibility study and a development strategy in place.

Winner: "Spetsmornefteport Kozmino"

Finalists: "SIBUR-Portenergo" and "Yamal LNG"

13. Innovative solution in environmental safety management

Batumi Oil Terminal has been chosen as a winner in this nomination due to its innovative approach in management of ecological issues. In particular, despite the 180 year old history of the terminal, environmental standards are met within all criteria and to the highest level of completion. A specific system of oil vapor removal system has been implemented to minimize the negative effect of terminal operating in resort area.

14.  Manufacturer of the Year / Equipment and Technologies
This award will be given to a manufacturing company which has designed and introduced in the market cutting edge technological solutions and equipment for oil terminals. The winner in this category will be determined by polling the participants of the Oil Terminal 2012 Congress.
