Award 2009The real ‘gem’ of the event is the Oil Terminal international contest, where celebrated international experts will evaluate the successes and achievements of oil terminals in various categories. In 2007, 45 of the largest terminals of the CIS and European countries participated in the Oil Terminal contest. More than 20 of the best Russian terminals were nominated, and many of them were awarded best terminal in their category. Winning the contest is an achievement valued by market participants, making the winning terminals proud of their accomplishments.The Ceremony will take place on November 26 at the Holiday Inn Hotel, St-Petersburg The List of Awards 2009 1. ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY The winner of this category is the terminal which places a priority on preservation of the environment in its home region. This is the terminal featuring an arsenal of up-to-date spill prevention, leaks detection, and spill response equipment and processes. 2. TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION The winner in this category is the terminal demonstrating a successful example of using existing or fielding new unconventional technology capable of producing very good results, and/or taking a company’s operations to a new technological level, and/or offering an unconventional service package to its clients. 3. TITANS OF TRANSSHIPMENT The winner in this category is the terminal with the highest volume of crude oil transshipment over the period 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009. 4. LIGHT OIL PRODUCTS TRANSSHIPMENT TERMINAL The winner in this category is the terminal with the highest volume of light oil products and distillates transshipment over the period 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009. 5. HEAVY OIL PRODUCTS TRANSSHIPMENT TERMINAL The winner of this award is the terminal with the highest volume of heavy oil products transshipment over the period 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009. 6. LPG & LNG TRANSSHIPMENT TERMINAL The winner in this category is the terminal with the highest volume of LPG or LNG transshipment over the period 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009. 7. BREAKTHROUGH OF THE YEAR The winner of this award is a terminal commissioned in 2008. This is the terminal making a “breakthrough” in its area of operations through efficient implementation of its plans and highly professional management. 8. PROMISING PROJECT The winner in this category is the most promising crude oil, petroleum products, gas terminal, or tank farm project. The project must be in the initial stages of implementation, with a feasibility study and development strategy in place, and be of significant interest for the industry and its region. 9. PERSONAL CONTRIBUTION TO INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT Behind each achievement at any company are people. Those who use their experience, knowledge, aspirations, persistence, and authority to take their company onto an entirely new level of development and operation. This award is about managers, engineers and all the people who are believed by their company and/or colleagues in the industry to be making an invaluable contribution to the development of the company and industry in general. 10. RELIABLE PARTNER The drive to improve on existing results, excellent relationships with clients, and the skill to understand their needs are keys to successful development. The winner in this category is the terminal where the team demonstrates a combination of these qualities, making it a reliable business partner for many companies, the terminal with maximum attention to each client's needs. 11. NEW WAY In order to win this award, terminals must support new routes for gas, crude oil and products transportation. 12. TERMINAL OF THE YEAR: capacity 1.5 mtpa or less The winner of this award is the terminal, which in the timeframe from 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009 has achieved the best results in terms of the efficiency of its operations in such areas as: economics, environmental and social. Public recognition of the terminal is meant to focus the attention of the community, investors, and customers, and make the public aware of its experience, to serve as an example for other terminals throughout the world. 13. TERMINAL OF THE YEAR: capacity 5 mtpa or less The winner in this category is the terminal, which in the timeframe from 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009 has achieved the best results in terms of the efficiency of its operations in such areas as: economics, environmental, and social. Public recognition of the terminal is meant to focus the attention of the community, investors, and customers, and make the public aware of its experience to serve as an example for other terminals throughout the world. 14. TERMINAL OF THE YEAR: capacity over 5 mtpa The winner of this award is the terminal, which in the timeframe from 1 July 2008 to 30 June 2009 has achieved the best results in terms of the efficiency of its operations in such areas as: economics, environmental, and social. Public recognition of the terminal is meant to focus the attention of the community, investors, and customers, and make the public aware of its experience to serve as an example for other terminals throughout the world.
