Onsite visits
A visit to one of the state-of-the-art port and/or terminal has been a traditional event at the Oil Terminal Congress for many years.
On November 29 there will be 2 onsite visits organised within the framework of the Event:
The Transneft BPS-2 (Ust-Luga tank farm)- 29 November 2012
BPS-2 is one of the most efficient and modern oil transportation systems in Russia. The pipeline traverses across Bryansk, Smolensk, Tver, Novgorod, and Leningrad regions. BPS-2 belongs to Druzhba Oil Trunk Pipelines, a subsidiary of Transneft.
Delegates will visit the Ust-Luga special oil port, "Ust-Luga" tank farm.
The design capacity of BPS-2 is 30 mtpa. Overall tank farm capacity is 400k m3. Storage includes 8 x 50k m3 tanks with a loading / offloading station. The layout of the tank farm allows for the simultaneous loading of two tankers, each up to 150k tons of deadweight.
BPS-2 was designed and built to comply with the strictest industrial and environmental safety standards. To ensure reliable operation and environmental safety, the pipeline was built using the latest insulation materials, the highest shutoff class valves, with telecontrol and other automated controls. Booster stations also provide efficient treatment facilities for both rain and utility water. Throughout the entire route of BPS-2 there is a system in place to manage sources of pollution and monitor the various elements of the environment.
